Bright, aromatic with vibrant floral aromas of violet, cherries and spice. The fresh palate of ripe red berries coupled with black cherry and olive, soft tannins that have a seam of toasted spice make this a moreish wine. An attractive package that delivers full flavour with silken texture.

The Collection Syrah is a true representation of the Alpha Domus vineyard nestled in the heart of the Bridge Pa Triangle District, producing floral, brighter and soft styles of wine.

Syrah is the most vigorous variety and requires special attention to detail in the vineyard to control growth of the canopy and the yield of fruit. Syrah is also a variety that strongly reflects the place it is grown producing delicate floral reds in cooler regions to inky dark impenetrable in warmer climates. The fruit is 100% destemmed and fermented with selected yeast, to retain the primary fruit freshness the wine was matured in our 5000 litre French oak Cuves during maturation.

From its origins in 1989, establishing both vineyard and winery, Alpha Domus was a pioneer in the renowned Bridge Pa Triangle Wine District of Hawke’s Bay. New Zealand family owned, they have always been inspired to create beautiful wines of worth; the importance of quality and expert craftsmanship paramount. Alpha is derived from the first initials of the founding family members names in age descending order, Anthonius, Leonarda, Paulus, Henrikus and Anthony, Domus is Latin for home.
