- Tilt the outboard motor to its full upward position to expose the hydraulic ram.
- Slide the wedge support securely over the single hydraulic tilt ram shaft. The notched interior is designed to grip the shaft.
- Slowly lower the motor until it applies firm pressure onto the wedge.

A: This wedge is designed for outboard motors with a single ram hydraulic tilt system. Please review the compatible models tables on this page. It is not compatible with triple-ram systems or 2023+ Yamaha 150-200 HP models.
Q: How many wedges do I need?
A: For most engines up to 175 HP, one wedge is sufficient. For heavier engines, such as the Mercury Verado V6/V8 and Racing models (250 HP+), we strongly recommend using two wedges for adequate support.
