Prepared in 1801 by John Cary for issue in his magnificent 1808 New Universal Atlas. Tibet (named Boudtan or Tibet here) and and Gobi Desert (Gebi shamo (????), meaning Gobi Desert in mandarin chinese) are included in "Chinese Tartary"
