In the early 2000s, Hobby Base Yellow Submarine released 1/35 scale figures based on the S.A.F.S. from Kow Yokoyama's Maschinen Krieger series. These weren't kits at all but fully painted, poseable toys.

This kit is a little different, though. A "test shot" is a test casting for a new toy or model to see how it looks and to identify any imperfections before production begins. Hobby Base sold some of these test shots as kits at Wonder Festival in 2002, which is what this is. It seems to be cast in hard plastic and (maybe?) resin. Cables are soft rubber.

The kit is unpainted and may require some additional cleanup or drilling to ensure proper fitment.
