B &H has put together the Celestron NexStar 4SE 102mm f/13 Maksutov-Cassegrain GoTo Telescope Observation Kit to give you everything you'll need to get out and sky watch. It includes a 4" aperture (102mm) NexStar 4SE Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope with a single-arm motorized fork mount and stainless steel adjustable-height tripod, the SkyPortal WiFi module that directly connects to your Windows or iOS smartphone running the free SkyPortal app, a Power Tank power pack to provide power to the telescope and small electronics in the field, an AC-to-DC power adapter, a five-piece eyepiece set, six planetary filters, a Moon filter, a 2x Barlow lens, and a foam-lined hard carrying case for the eyepieces and filters. No matter where you are, or what you want to observe, this kit has you covered.
Celestron 's NexStar 4SE 125mm f/13 Maksutov-Cassegrain GoTo Telescope is a powerful, versatile, and user-friendly catadioptric-style scope that can be used for observing everything from the Moon and planets to bright deep-sky objects like stars, galaxies, and nebulae. Using Celestron's proprietary StarBright XLT multi-coating system, light transmission is increased throughout the entire optical path with anti-reflection multi-coated lenses, highly reflective multi-coated mirrors, and crown optical glass elements. Similar to their Schmidt cousins, the Maksutov design exchanges the conventional front corrector plate with a convex meniscus lens, which results in a smaller secondary mirrorlimiting obstruction and increasing contrast, while eliminating the need for periodic collimation. While the focal ratio is a relatively slow f/13, the scope's optical performance, added to the mount's precision tracking system and integrated equatorial wedge, allows it to be a competent astrophotography/imaging platform for the Moon and planets.
Driving the dual servo motors on the mount is the brain of the NexStar 4SE: the iconic NexStar+ computer hand controller. Packed with 40,000+ celestial objects, it can hold up to 100 additional user-defined destinations and is updatable via the Celestron website. It has multiple alignment procedures to get you observing fast including the super-easy SkyAlign system. Capable of being used in the Northern or Southern Hemispheres, the NexStar has sidereal, lunar, and solar tracking speeds to accurately follow near- and deep-sky objects, plus nine slew speeds and the ability to automatically trigger a camera's shutter release for Fastar or piggyback wide-field photography or conventional prime-focus astrophotography.

Power your motorized/computer-controlled telescope with Celestron 's PowerTank 7-Amp 12 VDC Power Supply . This versatile accessory features two 12VDC car/vehicle plugs to power the telescope and peripherals, plus two USB ports to charge small electronics such as phones or GPS sets. To help get you to your observation spot it is equipped with a powerful spot light, and when you're setting up, switch to the smaller flashlight. When it's time for observation, put the red lens cap on the flashlight to light your way without affect your night-adjusted vision. A built-in circuit breaker protects all your equipment and devices from damage.
The Celestron AC to DC Power adapter has a standard 2-prong North American power plug on a ~6' cord on one end, and a 5.5mm circular DC output jack on a ~6 cord on the other side; in between is a transformer box. The North American plug cord is detachable from the transformer; the cord with the 5.5mm DC plug point is permanently attached to the transformer. Output of this unit is consistently 12 volts DC.
This allows AC 120-240V, 50-60 Hz AC current supplies to power any of the Celestron telescopes with the 5.5mm DC input on their drive base, a long list of items which includes the Advanced, Celestar 8, CG9/11/14, CI700, CPC, CGE, NexStar i, NexStar SE, Celestron NexStar i, NexStar SE, Ultima 2000 series and others.
Celestron put together this 1.25" Eyepiece and Filter Kit to give users essential accessories for planetary observation. This kit includes five Plossl eyepieces that provide a wide range of magnifications on any given telescope, six of the most popular colored planetary filters to enhance the views, a Moon filter that reduces glare from the lunar surface while enhancing contrast, and a 2x Barlow lens which essentially doubles the magnification of any eyepiece used with it. An included hard aluminum carrying case protects the accessories while custom die-cut foam on the inside cushions them.
Transform your smartphone or tablet into a wireless controller for your computerized telescope with Celestron 's SkyPortal WiFi Module . It plugs into the Hand Control or AUX port and begins to generate it's own WiFi signal to directly connect to your mobile device without the need for a router. Since it uses the telescope's power there are no batteries, plugs, or cables required.
The SkyPortal module works in conjunction with the free SkyPortal mobile app available for iOS and Android devices. The app features a database of over 100,000 objects with astroimages and audio descriptions of hundreds of them including the history, mythology, and key features of them. It can assist with the telescope alignment and if you hold the screen up to sky, it will identify the objects based on your location, date, and time. If you don't know what you want to look at, the SkyPortal app will take you on a guided tour.
