Epoch Battery 12.8V 460Ah LiFePO4 Battery with Heat, Bluetooth, and Smart BMS

When your power system matters, you need more than a battery with a big number on the label. You need real capacity, stable output, cold-weather charging protection, and the kind of built-in safeguards that let you trust your setup day after day. The Epoch Battery 12.8V 460Ah LiFePO4 is built for exactly that.

Designed in a Group 8D form factor, this high-capacity lithium iron phosphate battery delivers serious stored energy for demanding off-grid, backup power, mobile, and commercial applications. With 460Ah of capacity at 12.8V, it gives you roughly 5.9kWh of usable energy in a single battery, while supporting strong charge and discharge performance for systems that need dependable power delivery, not just lab-sheet specs.

This is the kind of battery you choose when you are done messing around with undersized banks, high-maintenance setups, or batteries that get fussy the moment temperatures drop. Whether you are building a robust backup power system, upgrading an off-grid solar install, or adding scalable storage to a professional-grade energy setup, the Epoch 460Ah gives you the capacity, control, and confidence to do it right.

High capacity power storage for serious systems

A lot of batteries are built for light duty. This one is not.

With 460Ah of capacity, the Epoch 12.8V battery is made for applications where runtime matters and load demand is real. It supports 230A max continuous charge current and 230A max continuous discharge current, with peak discharge capability up to 500A for 30 seconds and 1300A for 1 second. That means it is designed to handle substantial power demands while maintaining system stability.

For homeowners, that means longer runtimes for essential loads during outages. For off-grid users, it means a battery bank that can carry more of the daily load without forcing constant compromises. For installers and system designers, it means a product built to support demanding real-world use, not just basic standby duty.

Built for cold weather charging

Cold weather is where a lot of battery systems show their limits. The Epoch 460Ah is built to keep working when conditions are less than ideal, thanks to internal heating that allows charging in temperatures as low as -30°C (-22°F). That is a huge advantage for cabins, garages, sheds, RVs, marine environments, and backup systems installed in cold climates.

If you have ever dealt with winter charging issues, you already know how important this is. This feature helps protect the battery and makes the system more usable year-round without constant babysitting.

Smart BMS protection built in

At the core of this battery is a Smart Battery Management System (BMS) that helps protect against common electrical and temperature-related risks. This is one of the most important parts of any lithium battery, because it directly affects safety, performance, and long-term reliability.

The integrated BMS is designed to help manage charging and discharging conditions while supporting stable system operation. Combined with a certified internal fuse and certified cells, it adds another layer of confidence for anyone investing in long-term energy storage.

This is especially important in higher-capacity systems where reliability is non-negotiable. When your battery bank is supporting essential equipment, solar storage, or backup power, protection is not optional.

Monitor your battery from your phone

The Epoch 460Ah makes monitoring simple with Bluetooth connectivity and support for iOS and Android apps. Instead of guessing where your battery stands, you can check status and performance data from your phone.

That means faster system checks, easier troubleshooting, and less time opening compartments or digging through wiring to confirm what is happening. For DIY users, it makes system ownership easier. For pros, it gives customers a more modern and user-friendly experience.

The battery also includes an external power button and an integrated battery gauge, giving you convenient local control and quick status visibility right on the unit.

Ready for Victron systems and scalable installs

Compatibility matters. The Epoch 12.8V 460Ah battery supports Victron communication systems, making it a strong fit for users building around trusted inverter and charging platforms. That helps simplify integration in higher-end solar, marine, RV, and backup power systems.

Need more storage? This battery is designed to scale. It supports up to 16 batteries in parallel, allowing you to expand your energy storage as your needs grow. It also supports up to 4 batteries in series, depending on your system design requirements.

That flexibility makes it a smart choice for customers who want to start with a solid foundation and expand later, rather than replace their system when power needs increase.

Durable, sealed, and maintenance-free

Power systems are often installed in places that are dusty, damp, or just plain unforgiving. The Epoch 460Ah is built with an IP67 rating, offering strong protection against dust and water ingress. That added durability makes it well suited for demanding environments where battery reliability cannot depend on perfect conditions.

And unlike legacy battery setups that require regular maintenance, watering, or constant attention, this battery is maintenance-free. That means less hassle, cleaner ownership, and fewer ongoing headaches over the life of the system.

Long cycle life and long-term value

This battery is rated for 3500+ cycles, which is one of the biggest reasons LiFePO4 has become the go-to chemistry for serious energy storage. A battery like this is not just about today’s runtime. It is about building a system that keeps delivering over the long haul.

Pair that with an 11-year manufacturer warranty, and you get the kind of long-term value that matters when you are making a major investment in backup or off-grid power.

Why customers choose the Epoch 460Ah battery

Customers looking at this battery are usually trying to solve a real problem. They are tired of short runtimes, tired of fragile battery setups, or tired of trying to piece together a system that is always one weak link away from failure.

The Epoch 12.8V 460Ah stands out because it brings together the features that actually matter in real use:

  • High-capacity 460Ah storage for longer runtimes
  • LiFePO4 chemistry for safety, longevity, and stable performance
  • Smart BMS protection for safer operation
  • Internal heating for low-temperature charging
  • Bluetooth app monitoring for easier system management
  • Victron compatibility for smoother integration
  • Parallel expansion up to 16 batteries for scalable storage
  • IP67-rated construction for harsh environments
  • External power button and battery gauge for easier use
  • Maintenance-free operation
  • 11-year warranty for long-term peace of mind

Ideal for

The Epoch 12.8V 460Ah LiFePO4 Battery is a strong fit for:

  • Off-grid solar energy storage
  • Home backup power systems
  • RV and overland power systems
  • Marine and boating applications
  • Cabins and remote properties
  • Commercial mobile power setups
  • Energy systems that need scalable 12V storage with high current capability

If you need a compact, low-cost battery for light occasional use, this may be more battery than you need. But if you are building a serious power system and want substantial capacity, cold-weather charging support, smart monitoring, and expansion flexibility, this is the kind of battery that makes sense.

It is built for people who value runtime, reliability, and fewer compromises.

Attractive
Size: 4 Panel-88'', Color: Grey
The assembled product is just as described. The screens look great! I am using them to hide the cluttered shelving in my garage. The area now looks quite neat Something I must say, though, is that the assembly was extremely difficult. I had to use a silicone spray and some pounding to get the A and B poles to fit together. Also, it required a great deal of strength to stretch and hold the fabric panels so that the bars inserted in each hem lines up with the screws inserted in A/B poles. I strongly recommend having a partner to help with the assembly. while sc and screw into poles them once inserted intetchedtne end of each pole ( and B poles barely fit together. I used silicone spray on the end and then pounded them

Does the job, but assembling by yourself is a nightmare
Size: 4 Panel-88'', Color: Black
Does it do the job? Yes, although as others said there are small gaps but it's not a huge deal. The price is also good. But the reason I'm giving it a 3/5 is simply because the assembly for this was a complete nightmare. I honestly don't think I would recommend this to anyone unless they have another person to help them assemble it, because doing it by myself was terrible. I don't think I'd buy this again, I think I'd opt to just spend a bit more money and save myself the trouble personally.

Reasonably adequate room divider
Size: 4 Panel-88'', Color: Beige
I'm reviewing this as I assemble it. Couple things: 1. I didn't expect as much assembly. I've ordered dividers before and they more-or-less came as one unit. Sometimes the panels needed screwing together. These require complete assembly and come largely as three rods: two make up vertical columns and snap together. Another one (called part "C") makes the horizontal columns and you have two of these per panel (one attaches to part "A" and the other part "B"). These parts are metal with a plastic shim. Using the wood screws to attach to part "C" is a real pain in the neck. There's not much holding the panel in place so it's a little tricky. One tactic I've found while I'm assembling that works for the initial connections from parts A and B to their respective "C" rods is to hold the screw in place with a screw driver and then rotating the rod around the screw. This will do a number on your hands if you aren't wearing gloves. This obviously doesn't work when completing the connection. Using a driller driver on this is really near impossible because there isn't anything you can use to secure it in place. You can use it on the first panel, but as it gets longer, it becomes increasingly difficult and because it isn't wood, it's really tight. I considered drilling larger pilot holes but since there are only 4x4=16 screws I need to screw in, I just decided to use my screw driver to complete it. 2. Also related to assembly. When completing the panels (attaching parts "A" and "B" to parts "C" that have the cloth cover on it), you have to be careful that when you tighten that side that it isn't loosening the other side. Because the pilot holes are so tight, you can end up rotating the rod, which rotates it in the same direction as looser on the original side. Having someone hold the "C" rod in place while you screw it in is probably the easiest approach. I didn't have a 2nd person, so I just had to keep flipping back and forth and tightening both sides as I screwed it in. Not the worlds biggest deal, but annoying nonetheless. 3. The way the instructions are written, they seem to suggest building this thing progressively; that is, you do panel 1, then 2, connect them together, then do 3 and connect it, etc. I took a different route that I suspect saved me quite a bit of trouble, and I assembled all four panels first and THEN connected everything together. 4. For the love of God make sure you check that the plastic tip is on the same side for every panel. Otherwise, you have to take one side apart again and reverse it. On the bright side, if this happens, you've essentially bored out the pilot holes to be the correct size... which is having me question if I shouldn't have just bored them out to the appropriate width in the first place. 5. Attaching all of the panels together is also an enormous pain in the ass unless you happen to have an 88" long elevated surface. Attaching the legs either requires you to elevate one side, which will invariably twist the inexplicably cheap material in the bottom connectors... or you can attach them sideways... or you can put this thing upright, having two people hold the panels in place while you use the allen wrench to tighten the bolts on the underside. None of those are particularly great options. NOW on to the utility itself. 1. The panels do let some light through (I didn't believe their advertising, and that was one of the reasons that I bought beige, is that I wanted it to not be too dark). They aren't transparent though, so it isn't that far off from their description. They functionally work great, and keep the mess of wires hidden and when I'm sitting at my desk, actually reflect quite a bit of light into my office. Great! 2. My wife has described these as "the most hideous piece of furniture ever conceived of by man." So it does not have spouse approval factor. Granted, she will seldom be in my office area, so that isn't the end of the world. 3. These are really hard to align in a way that doesn't look a little tacky. There are some plastic connectors but they don't do a bang up job of keeping these in place. Each panel is slightly tilted and it's... quite obvious. I may at some point make my own improvements to these to help make them more level. It's not a particularly expensive product so I wasn't expecting much so it's fine and I'm not going to ding them on the rating because of it. All said, would I buy this product again? Probably not. It's assembly was ~90 minutes which is about 75 minutes longer than I was anticipating spending on this (not including the 5 minute writeup that I'm doing here). But am I going to return it? Also no, if for no other reason I'd be just as annoyed taking it apart and putting it in the original box to return it.
