Thompson & Co, These early pattern examples were 4 1 4" diameter as they were intended for the G. W. R 5 1 4" centre's of the levers. When the new 4" center frames required repeaters fixed next to each other they didn't match the spacings of the levers and hence the later 3 7 8" diameter ones. This instrument is in very good working condition, case has both thumbscrews and bright
