Introduced by Greg Grant of the Stephen F Austin University, named for the gardener Pam Puryear, it is likely an x Americana hybrid which is not actually native but is well mannered and not known to be invasive in the US. Climber needs trellising, or will grow as groundcover without, up to 6' height/spread. Container friendly, mulch and prune regularly to encourage bushy new growth. Tolerates poor soil, heat, and drought once established, likes full sun. Cold tolerant to at least 20°F and some sources give all the way to 5°F, mulch well for harder freezes.
