My School Ukulele

The My School Ukulele range is a great choice for the classroom, ukulele clubs, music hubs, institutions, and other education environments. The goal with these ukuleles was to create an instrument that is amazing value, yet still offers the level of quality that encourages and supports a young player as they progress on the instrument.

To minimise costs and maximise quality, we have tapped into the supply of surplus components typically left over from a run of ukulele production. This not only drastically reduces waste but means we have been able to make a product from quality components at a fraction of the cost!

These slimline small-body models offer the same reliable quality as our regular models, but with a reduced body depth. The difference between the usual 55mm body and this slim 40mm body is that it allows easier reach for younger players, a more compact instrument for travel and a lighter ukulele.

The team at My School Ukulele have so much faith in their product that each ukulele comes with a 2 year manufacturer warranty which is unheard of at this price range. To help school administrators sleep easy, if you register your school's purchase directly with Chamberlain Music, we will extend that to 5 years of musical peace of mind.

How have we made My School Ukuleles more affordable for schools and hubs?

My School Ukuleles are made in the same factory as market leaders including Octopus Ukulele, but with a few small differences. We have managed to make them more affordable for education customers by cutting out some of the processes that are not important for schools and hubs.

Just like Octopus, My School Ukuleles come with:

  • Selected Tonewood body for great sound, projection, and resonance
  • Reliable, sustainable materials including laurel or walnut for fretboards and bridges
  • Brass frets for smooth playing and resonant tone
  • Okoume necks which add sturdiness whilst remaining lightweight
  • Quality geared machine heads
  • A two-year warranty extendable to five for schools and hubs (see below)

How come My School Ukuleles are more affordable?

  • Supplied in plain cartons - super-protective but without expensive colour print
  • Sound hole stickers and hang tags dispensed with
  • We fit our own top quality nylon strings, instead of branded ones
  • We recycle surplus headstocks and hardware from other productions - as a result, you may recieve a mixture of different headstock designs
  • Production is fitted in when the factory has best availability – and we always fill our containers to the brim!
  • No middlemen or additional profit centres – My School Ukuleles go straight from factory to consumer

All these small changes help us to reduce the cost of a My School Ukulele, and allow us to offer the best bulk discounts on both single ukes and packs of 12! Rather than creating a cheap uke by cutting corners and producing a disappointing product, we have made something any student would be proud to play.

A charming variety of headstocks

As a result of this low-waste manufacturing, not every My School Ukulele is the same. For example, any available spare headstocks from the factory are used up in the making of these ukes, meaning lots of variety within each batch. A few examples of this mixture can be seen in their mid-production state below:

Let's get playing

A reliable, well-made ukulele should feel good under the fingers and sound great. Our smooth frets and even fingerboards help to make fingering those first ukulele chords as easy as possible. Before you know it, you’ll be strumming Somewhere Over the Rainbow or picking up your favourite ukulele tabs like an old hand.

The reliable geared tuners on these models provide tuning stability for the white nylon strings which are gentle on the fingers when you first get started. Remember to try and keep both strumming and fretting hands relaxed!

Sounding good? Looking good too!

With build quality and playability accounted for, what really inspires you to pick up and play is an instrument that looks great. We have selected the most popular colours and finishes with schools and young students for this series, applied accurately by an automated process and left to air dry for a consistent and smooth finish.

not bad
Format: Kindle
I loved the plot of this book. The characters just didn’t have a lot of depth. The connections and “love” just weren’t communicated very well in the writing. The author didn’t write the sweet psycho trope very well at all either. Lachlan was just a mess of a character.

A Beta Worth Rooting For
Format: Kindle
In Spare, Violet Fox flips the omegaverse on its head, giving us a Beta heroine determined to make her mark. Joining the Beta Trials to support her sick father, she's thrown into a pack that doesn't want her, especially the possessive Alphas. But here's the twist: their sweet Omega turns out to be her scent match. Cue the angst, forbidden tension, and a slow-burn romance that will make your heart ache in the best way. Violet Fox delivers an emotional, refreshing take on the genre, proving Betas aren't "spares." They're stars.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

Good start to a series
Format: Kindle
I delayed reading the series for reasons I don’t remember. But my TBR list is huge so I thought I’d take a shot of this and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t think the blurb about it was anything special. But it was a very good book. It took some interesting twists and turns. I am so glad the second book is already out. Because I would not have waited patiently. Very slow burn but good storyline. 🔥🔥/5
