Multi-dimensional Morphing AiR sound sourceCasio wasn’t one to stop at the smooth function of the AP-550’s keys; instead, the company outfitted the AP-550 Celviano with its state-of-the-art Multi-dimensional Morphing AiR (Acoustic and Intelligent Resonator) sound source. Take, for instance, the relationship between an acoustic piano’s strings: when one string is struck, it causes a rippling chain reaction that causes nearby strings to resonate. Casio’s AiR technology reproduces the sympathetic vibrations found in acoustic pianos, further developing the natural and true-to-life sound of the AP-550 Celviano! The result is a digital upright piano sound that is incredibly realistic and nearly indistinguishable from that of a true acoustic piano — without the need for tuning and acoustic upkeep!
The AP-550 Celviano offers pianists the breathtaking sounds of two majestic grand pianos: the 9-foot Hamburg concert grand and the New York grand. The Hamburg was captured by Casio using a meticulous placement of microphones to capture every detail of its majestic, rich, and versatile sound. On the other hand, the AP-550 Celviano also boasts the New York variant of the same marque that was captured with the same richness and detail. There’s nothing quite like a Casio, and the AP-550 Celviano brings Casio lovers and first-time users a unique digital experience that ups the ante for its acoustical brethren. Users of the AP-550 Celviano will delight in the added features like the 60-song Music Library, four hall simulations, and Instant RePlayer continuous recorder that provide hours upon hours of enthusiastic education. The AP-550 Celviano also offers a MIDI and audio recorder with internal flash memory and USB storage, so you’re free to record up to 99 songs!
An included WU-BT10 adapter expands the possibilities of your AP-550 Celviano, letting you connect via Bluetooth to play along with your favorite songs or connect to the Casio Music Space app for expanded features. Pianists can also take advantage of aspects like layer, split and duet mode, plus chorus, brilliance, and preset DSP effects for a digital piano experience like no other!
To access any of the AP-550 Celviano’s features, simply use the illuminated touch sensor controls. As you play, the illumination of these controls disappears to give you complete and undisturbed focus — you need only touch them to activate them again. You’ll also notice the Visual Information Bar above the keys. When the metronome is engaged, this bar pulses with the beat. It can also be a great visualization of strength and pedal depth to help students with their technique. Connect to the piano via Bluetooth and customize the visualization to the incoming audio! Users who wish for a more authentic upright piano experience can easily disable this function for distraction-free playing.
