"Fuck your technique, sound first." -- jaimie branch (1983 - 2022)   Holy moly, I'm pretty darn picky when it comes to jazz (and while often I love when artists get adventurous and all crazy, that's not usually my feelings when it comes to jazz..often when people say it's great jazz because it's really adventurous, I hate it even more...lose the solos and gimme the forward groove or you will lose me so quickly... mostly it's just maximum R&B that I love, whether you call it punk, groove, power pop, funk...it's all the same thing, maximum R&B...pack it into the song and the rhythm, charge it forward and end it quickly) but jaime branch is both adventurous and just completely amazing, offers so much but keeps it packed into the groove, and even when instrumental reflection takes her off the path and into the forests of the mind, when her stories of racism and bullshit must be told, and her flights of fancy fly away like birds from the trees along the way, who am I to gripe when she's clearly got a complete grip on what she's doing. She packs so much history in her music, the knowledge, sounds and lessons of key Black artists of the previous century mixed with hints her own history, playing in ska and punk band as a youth, growing up with hip-hop and Nirvana, and dealing with the issues at hand in the world today and tapping into her Latin American heritage (Colombian on her mother's side) to add that infectious focus of latin american percussion to flavor some of her recipes, coming out of all that and bringing it into her music, which moves far away from her ska and punk beginnings to the places she has to go, to follow the pain and joy wherever it brings her.  She is a sum of her parts and so much more.  She's simply out of sight. -- winch

A mainstay of the Chicago jazz scene and an active recent addition to the New York scene, Jaimie Branch is an avant-garde trumpeter known for her “ghostly sounds," says The New York Times, and for "sucker punching" crowds straight from the jump off, says Time Out. Her classical training and “unique voice capable of transforming every ensemble of which she is a part” (Jazz Right Now) has contributed to a wide range of projects not only in jazz but also punk, noise, indie rock, electronic and hip-hop. Branch’s work as a composer and a producer, as well as a sideman for the likes of William Parker, Matana Roberts, TV on the Radio and Spoon, is all on display in her debut record Fly or Die – a dynamic 35-minute ride that dares listeners to open their minds to music that knows no genre, no gender, no limits.

“It’s a true joy to listen to Jaimie Branch’s Fly or Die. Jaimie’s masterful trumpet playing sits at the helm of this gorgeous record, richly supported by a stellar cast of musicians, and upheld by strong and provocative composition.” – Sarah Neufeld (Arcade Fire)

"Super out tunes that continually open new doors to strange, sweet, and psychedelic grooves. Band is constantly cracking some ancient alien code here. Seamless and effortless compositions from Branch. An absolute “must jam” for anyone interested in the future of mind expansion." – Ryley Walker

“Fly or Die
Fleet footed solar cry
Breath of a neon dragon
Stomping Whaling Kryptonite
Delicate as thin ice on the rim of a red rose petal
Shatters all
Fresh as the beginning after the end of the world
Sonic sowing
New clay
Pot of gold
Die or Fly
You choose”
– Rob Mazurek

In January of 2016, Jaimie Branch launched a monthly free jazz series with a new ensemble at Brooklyn’s now debunked Manhattan Inn. Sharing the first night of her series with a trio on tour from Chicago (Nick Mazzarella, Anton Hatwich and Frank Rosaly), the trumpeter Branch assembled a quartet to match: cellist Tomeka Reid, bassist Jason Ajemian, and drummer Chad Taylor. Between visitors and expats, it was a night of performers exclusively from The Windy City. “I wanted New York to hear what Chicago sounds like,” says Branch.

Though the format that first night was free, by the time International Anthem family returned to New York to record her in June, Branch had refined her improvised melodies into a suite of themes for to be played by that same quartet. Engineers David Allen & Dave Vettraino recorded the band over an afternoon at Branch’s sister Kate’s apartment in Red Hook, Brooklyn. Branch post-produced those recordings, added overdubs, blended in live takes, cut and stitched the music into its final structure at Vettraino’s home studio in Chicago in July. The finishing touch was her totally bizarre, totally brilliant commissioning of acoustic guitar overdubs by Chicago friend Matt Schneider (Moon Bros). His brief classical plucking of strings, the epilogue in “…back at the ranch,” perfectly caps the dynamic manic-depressive journey in true Jaimie Branch fashion. She's making light of a heavy situation.

Regardless of a relatively prolific and consistent decade-plus career performing, composing and collaborating with a lengthy list of jazz world notables, this album is Jaimie Branch's first final work as a leader. Over a dozen friends from Chicago to New York came together under her direction to bring it into being, and the genuine depth of character present in every element makes it well worth the wait. A categorical movement of courageous ascent, Fly or Die conveys a lifetime of experience in a singular suite.

Good soap bags
Size: Small Size
Great soap bar bag. Later is good, fit is big but that's fine way better than being too tight or small. Great value.

Fantastic soap exoplanet bags
Size: Medium Size, Size: Medium Size
Very high quality bag. I was really surprised when it arrived and I saw how well it was made. I was expecting something cheap for the price. But the quality and durability of this soap bag far surpassed the price of the item. This will last for years. The material and stitching are top of the line. I can recommend this product for anyone.

It’s not your average toothpaste consistency
Flavor Name: Peppermint, Size: 5.25 Ounce (Pack of 1), Flavor Name: Peppermint, Size: 5.25 Ounce (Pack of 1)
My teeth have become a little sensitive recently so I started using Sensodyne. Through some research, I discovered hydroxyapatite. I was extremely excited and intrigued at the idea of its ability to strengthen tooth enamel so I just had to give it a try. I first started with Risewell, but then my dentist recommended David’s due to it having nano-hydroxyapatite. I really like this toothpaste. As you can see, it’s almost all finished. I like the flavor, I like that’s it’s fluoride free so you can swallow it, and it’s made in the USA. I’m obsessed with the packaging too! It’s got a very minimalist and modern aesthetic and it comes in a recyclable metal tube. I also love that it comes with with a little metal key to help push put all the toothpaste. I definitely felt like this toothpaste improved my teeth sensitivity as well as helped whiten my teeth. I love that it’s so convenient to order on Amazon so it ships quickly (as opposed to Risewell). If you’re not familiar with hydroxyapatite toothpastes then you may be surprised by the texture. It’s very loose and watery. It doesn’t really lather up the way toothpaste does. I feel like that’s one nuisance with using these natural toothpastes, but I would also say that the benefits of using it outweigh that. Overall, this is a solid product and I will definitely continue to use it as well as recommend it to others.
