Meyer VPI Virginia Polytechnic Institute Virginia Tech VTCC Corp of Cadets Officer’s Presentation Sword-This saber appears to be in overall good condition but does show signs of age and signs of use. The nickel silver guard is in very good condition and retains the majority of its nickel silver finish. The plastic handle does have two dents, or deep impressions just under the dove head style pommel. Otherwise, they are very good. The grip is quite stylized, and the end of the handle where it meets the blade is ribbed, giving this an interesting look.
The blade's ricasso reads Trade Challenger Mark Stainless N.S. Meyer INC. on one side and shows the proof disc on the other side. Engraving on the sword has the name of the sword owner, and date. It reads 1960 Stanley M. Wolf, the etched image shows the crossed cannons, War Memorial Court & Pylons, Crossed Guns, American Eagle, US Flag, the state motto “E Pluribus Unum", 1872. You can also see a number of important seals like the VPI Seal, Campus Building, the school's UT Prosim Seal, and the Virginia State Seal. The blade itself is in very good condition. This sword measures 38 inches (96.52cm) when in the scabbard. The scabbard is in sound condition; there is moderate pitting at the end of the scabbard so please be sure to look closely at the photos. If you are an alumnus of VPI this would be an interesting wall hanging! A good-looking contemporary sword.
