The Stage 1 variant of the EMPI Super Vee Type 4 lineup. Same European-sourced premium casting and 44mm intake / 36mm exhaust big-valve setup as the Stock PLUS, but with custom port work for serious airflow gains over the bolt-on offering. Stuffed with Manley valves, silicon bronze valve guides, hardened valve seats, heavy duty valve springs, and chromoly retainers.
All valve seat work and porting is performed in-house at EMPI Anaheim, CA on a Rottler SG7MTS cylinder head machine. Ideal for hot-rodded Type 4 builds — Bus, Porsche 914, or custom Type 4-powered air-cooled platforms.
