A luminous midcentury Italian micromosaic double frame, hand-set with thousands of tiny glass tesserae in rich emerald, ruby, blush, ivory, and gold tones. The oval twin apertures are framed by a lush floral garland motif, inspired by classical Roman mosaic borders and revived for the postwar luxury souvenir market of Italy.

Each tile was individually placed by hand, creating a surface that catches and reflects light with remarkable depth and movement. The gilt brass surround and folding easel back make this a striking tabletop display, originally intended for cherished portraits or travel mementos.

Very image detailed, thorough history of WW II told through maps

Entertaining, informative, without being overwhelming.
Format: Hardcover, Format: Hardcover
Got it for, basically, half-off standard retail. At that price, it's a fine addition to the WWII library. Some interesting information displayed in a mostly entertaining way. I get that battle maps are always a challenge (maps are static - battles are dynamic). This does a fairly adequate job - better than most battle maps - though far from groundbreaking. item arrived well packed - no issues with binding (as some others seem to report). Though the book overall is a bit "warped" and several of the maps are mis-printed or mis-cut as to make them unusable. 3 bad out of 300 - not horrible - again at the price I paid. If the subject interest you - I'd suggest getting - but not a "must have".

For the history buff or student - this is worth the purchase
Format: Hardcover
Detailed, individual maps and history on the battles of World War II. It isn’t too overwhelming for the student and is an enjoyable read for the history buff. Hardback so it will ensure lots of reading and reviews, durable pages too (not those thin, flimsy, easily tearable pages!) - this book will likely stand the test of our schooling years and beyond.
