This photograph was made near Patearoa in the Maniototo, in a place easily passed by and rarely noticed. A line of old dead trees lies set aside, likely left to dry for firewood. The image is treated quietly, with low contrast and a low-key tonal range, allowing the fog to soften edges and compress distance.
