Family: Fabaceae

Origins/Distribution: developed by Hans Hansen, introduced by Walters Gardens in 2021, exact parentage unknown, but developed through crosses with native species collected in Texas and Oklahoma. There are numerous wild species indigenous to the mid and southwest. There is also one in Maine, Baptisia tinctoria.

Habitat: Baptisias are found along borders with a sunny aspect, like tree lines, for example, and also in open places, meadows, fields.

More: Does not like to be moved, good cut flower and foliage, Lovely vase-shape and shrub-like once mature, long-lived.
